  Vocational Courses
Skillswise runs IT courses up to NVQ Level (iTQ) . Vocational courses are career-specific, this means the course relates to a specific area of employment or industry sector. Vocational courses tend to be practical and skills-focused, and many include work-related projects or work experience. Assessment of vocational courses is on a continuous basis and students are required to complete practical tasks and assignments throughout the year.

iTQ- Certificate for IT Users Levels 1-3
ITQ is an innovative NVQ for IT Users, with a unique 'pick and mix' design. It's ideal for those in the workplace and in college, as it allows candidates to choose exactly which units best reflect their level of skill. There is even a bespoke unit that can be customised for specific applications so you can offer units to suit anyone's needs.

iTQ is suitable for anybody who uses IT and the flexible structure means that it can be adapted for almost any workplace or job or intended career. Evidence can be collected from naturally occurring IT activities that are undertaken for a specific and real purpose. This means that learners don't have to be in the workplace in order to achieve the qualification. The purpose and general content of the end product may be specified by the end user however the candidate must select and use IT to achieve the end product. In many situations the end product will be specified by the candidate's employer or client or the centre. However, valid evidence can also arise from:

the search for employment (eg CVs, job applications and emails to potential employers)
social activities (eg club membership databases, posters and websites)
enterprise activities (eg business plans, budgets and marketing materials)
voluntary activities (eg cash flows, programmes and newsletters)
learning and studying subjects other than IT (eg internet research for a geography assignment, reports/dissertations and presentations)

iTQ is accredited by City and Guilds and OCR

  CLAiT
CLAIT stands for Computer Literacy and Information Technology and is a nationally recognised course. If you pass a CLAIT course it shows employers you can use the main applications on a computer.

It is a package of three qualifications which help learners of all abilities to develop their IT skills.

New CLAiT (level 1) for the beginner - boosts confidence
CLAiT Plus (level 2) for those with some experience - increases IT productivity
CLAiT Advanced (level 3) for confident and productive IT users - enhances IT proficiency

Learners can choose between single units, a certificate or a diploma and will receive a certificate for whichever option they achieve. For a certificate they must achieve three units and for a diploma they must achieve five units; both options must include the mandatory unit. Level 3 is equivalent to NVQ 3 (National Vocational Qualification) and A- level standard. You can move through the levels to increase your skills.

CLAiT is accredited by OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examination Board)
